About the Club

We are a local charity run by willing volunteers.

"Our club became a registered charity on the 2nd December 2013."

We have a growing membership and are now the largest stroke club in the North if not the whole of the UK Described by the national stroke association as Unique. We fulfil our Aims and Objects by organising weekly exercise sessions along with social activities Carpet bowling, Hanging basket making and social get togethers.

Adult Stroke survivors are welcome as are their ‘carers’.

We are supported and endorsed by the ‘Physio’ departments of all the local Hospitals where several of our club Mentors visit to give encouragement to inpatient's. Come along and meet

Teesside University’s Year 2 BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy students spending time with Teesside Stroke club – learning about the fantastic support available to stroke survivors and their carers.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF OUR CLUB, OUR MEMBERS,

they pass on their stories and experiences, YOU ARE NOT ALONE, our wonderful members share their thoughts and will help you see that there is a future. Our main aims are to encourage our members to regain self-confidence and self-worth using cognitive, physical, and social techniques. We have the facilities to provide rehabilitation supported by our volunteers, we have two personal trainers at each session to ensure that members use the exercise equipment safely.
